Well we are very excited now as we are checked in, have security clearance and are now waiting in the lounge. Very real. Seemed very cold at Heathrow in light trousers.
The first part of the journey was very slow due to low temperatures (-4.5C). Once we were at York the trip to Maidenhead was easy. We had a lovely lunch with Hugh and Helen who took us to the airport.

The Day Before
We woke up this morning to a winter wonderland..... See photos. Marion was unable to go quilting as at 9am the roads were white and a blizzard was raging. New Zealand seems a very enticing prospect.
When we are all packed, excited, and a little tense worrying that we have forgot something critical.
Please follow us on our tour, this will not be great literature but our thoughts after every hopefully exciting days. We shall also post a few photos. Please feel welcome to put your comments on the blog so we can see what is going on at home.
